The fossilization of memory. Sounds too scientific, too pedagogic. Very much like the notes I used to write in Zoology, only in a sentimental context. Note that this blog is a hole in my failing consciousness. Much of my time I’ve been spending on taking pictures, editing my short stories (as a requirement of my adviser-to-be; hopefully he would accept me), and listen to music that I couldn’t watch movies anymore, or read the Jonathan Safran Foer book I bought for Christmas.

To even shake things up, I told myself to read a thick book about critical frameworks, from Marxism (which is beyond mental masturbation, which is why I like it the most… so far) to Postmodernism. This is for me to know the critical side of writing. The obsessive-compulsive in me wants to patch things up, for I usually spend an hour refreshing my Tumblr dashboard or exploring Last.fm artists.

Organizing things is not my forte, but I shall try to do things in this boring routine:

  1. Read a book for two hours every day. If my roommates start talking about their latest adventures in their PSPs, I shall find a sweet refuge away from them.
  2. Always bring the camera; the day-to-day shenanigans and food porn usually call for it.
  3. As much as possible I shall not forget snippets, dreams, musings, and the whatnot. I shall write on my Moleskine if the time, place and privacy would let me.
  4. Read a concept and try to master them every day. Say, Gramsci’s Cultural Hegemony or Levi-Strauss’s study about mythology under the Structuralism theory. This shall take at least thirty minutes. Remember to take small steps at a time, and consult to a nearby professor if ever I could notice myself reading the same line for three minutes.
  5. I shall try listen to a new band/artist every week. This week: Jens Lenkman.
  6. Watch a movie as much as possible every Sunday. I shall call it the Sunday Show, out of lame reasons. (This week I’ll watch this Korean intelligent horror film, The Uninvited.)
  7. Blog at least twice a week.
  8. Drink beer at least twice a month (with the exception of the upcoming Feb Fair and birthday celebrations).
  9. Do not be guilty on spending moolah on food. Food is where I am happy, and though what I jogged last semester are gradually coming back in the form of a big, big belly, at least I won’t die craving for waffles.
  10. 21/365: Good Morning!

This list can be a catalyst for change or a proof for my unwavering procrastination.
