I’m Kevin, 18 y/o. Filipino. My definition of cool is something cooler than menthol.

Some kickass updates, yey!

It’s probably in my genes to get rid of my blog for a while and realize that my blog’s becoming one huge empty mass of shit, but of course I still manage to come back and update it. Aaaand I miss my Tumblr blog more than this citrus-colored blog.

BORING DAILY UPDATES:

Friday - Dad got this pharyngitis thing going on in his throat (specifically and obviously, it’s the pharynx) and he’s losing his voice so I quickly cancelled dining with friends at Trinoma at that very night. Then I got home and I saw him smoking. He’s still smoking after all. WTF IS THIS PHARYNGITIS THING ANYWAY?

Saturday - went to someone’s debut at Hotel Stotsenburg somewhere in Clarkfield, Pampanga. We got wheels provided by the debutante which brought us straight from Bulacan to Pampanga. Coolness.

Also, that Saturday - bought that brand-new Monopoly board game for 800 bucks just because of my nephew’s birthday. It’s actually my first gift to him and needless to say, my bank account dwindled even lower than expected. But I quickly deposited money from my dearest Mother.

Sunday - I think the kids and I played three Monopoly games (all of them ended due to bankruptcy).

Wait, the phrase “kids and I” is just so fatherly.

Monday - I went straight to Laguna since my Speech Communication professor ‘last-minutely’ announced an emergency meeting. I’d rather not vent it out here for a while: it’s really maddening. Also, we played DotA from 8 to 1 in the morning, Tuesday.

Tuesday - I woke up and realized that I’m slowly forgetting my blog. :D

And I watched Stay Alive (with Frankie Muniz in it) a while ago. Simply kickass. The movie’s plot is interconnected with a Playstation game (also using the same name) and it’s really thrilling and mind-puzzling.

WHAT KEEPS ME BUSY:

  • Shifting papers
  • Dad’s resume (I can’t find the french-like e)
  • DotA as usual
  • Debuts
  • Essay writing books!

Dad’s buying me something this Halloween. He told me he’d buy me a vest (Jonas Brothers-like vests, anyone?) or suits (Armani?) for debuts. He said I should be masculine in style, but still fashionable. I can’t get it. Whaaaat does that mean, you GQ*-overloaded father?

*GQ means Gentlemen’s Quarterly. It’s a magazine for dirty old men and men’s fashion.

When Wordpress fanatics meet at one place.

Uhh, I need the best alibis in the world.

Not that kind of alibi where someone’s involved with death or disease contraction. Something that’s really convincing. I’m thinking of telling my orgmates that my Dad and I were scheduled on some VISA interview just so I could walk away from my responsibility with the organization and attend someone’s debut.

It’s a Saturday. Not some out-of-town thing. I don’t know.

Wordcamp 2008

Anyway, I’m right here with Matt Mullenweg (did I spell it right?) and the rest of the Wordpress campers here at St. Benilde. It’s pretty interesting since I won something from their raffle (2-year domain or hosting?), and this like my second time winning on a blogger’s forum/meet-up whatever. Cool.

The whole Wordcamp thing is a success, the way I see it. First, it gives you an option with what class/session to attend - which has its own pros (like the lesser chances of boredom since you’d be wanting to attend a session you’re interested in since you have lots of options) and cons (unfortunately, Videoblogging and Blogging Journalism occupied the same time slot at different rooms). But still, it’s good.

Sonja’s cupcakes ROCKED MY TASTE BUDS. Seriously, it pwned me. I ate four, actually. And thanks to Chowking’s Lauriat for lunch. And it’s nice meeting everybody.

Busy boy busy

I’ll be submitting another fiction probably this Monday, or any day next week.

But I’m busy next week since I got lots of school events to attend (a specialized speech class this Monday, another film-viewing featuring Andong and other Cinemalaya shorts this Wednesday and stuff) that I may leave the blogging scene for a very short while.

VerbaLOL

One thing I have to confess - I’ve been saying LOL (laugh out loud) a lot. Verbally. Instead of the usual laughs, I replace it with LOL. As in. Literally. So when something’s really funny I just say LOL. It’s less offending, anyway. And perhaps it’s pretty abnormal of me to develop this but I hope it’s something lesser than a habit.

And then I’m having fun with my Tumblr account. But it’s still a secret. When I get pissed off, I’ll show it to you.

Linkloves

Just to link love a LOT LOT LOT of people I’ve met at Wordcamp last Saturday. I know it’s really unfair of me not to link you guys back, and it’s not really a royal pain in the ass.

Thanks to Ian for touring us around (not really around, but it’s still a tour anyway) Benilde and for the frequent texting and all (like I owe you big time, srsly);

To Cars for the shaky picture she shot when I was hanging out with The Matt;

To Alan for entrusting me his laptop (for free!) when he had to go pee outside;

To Shari for the accommodations (since we got lost while finding Jayvee’s Blogging 102 class) and for the company as well (though I kinda miss link-loving you for the frequent inebriation, but we shall have it next time, I guess);

To Rowjie - I knew it was you at the Videoblogging class, I’m just having second thoughts whether to approach you;

To Doc Tess for the Perfect World tutorial (I love your tamer character, really, and how she rides with the leopard/tiger or whatever that tiger-like creature is);

To Micamyx - finally, I’ve met you;

To Poyt for the quickie at the restroom, I kiiiiid! Lol;

To Coy, Kring (your videoblogging class is downright funneh!), AJ (I thought you didn’t know me by face, LOL), Ria (I swear I’m having plans to go to the afterparty but I can’t, whew);

To Clarisse (is the spelling right?), Anna and Alrenz (I should’ve at least knew you formally with a handshake - I’m formal like that, hahaha) for the last-minute introductions before leaving the venue;

To Efbee, Mariano (and his shuddering soprano voice), Doc Mnel (and her estrus-inducing get-up), Jeck, Pedro/Peter (for the videoke! cheeeers) and Vera-slash-XIenah, of course, for the cupcakes!

To the sponsors and everybody else not mentioned, thanks a lot!

(This, so far, had to be the longest link-love I’ve ever made. Ever. Since December of 2005.)
